During the informal meeting of the plenary session on the annual report of the Security Council, Pakistan’s envoy to the United Nations, Munir Akram, raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the Security Council failed to implement its own resolutions and decisions on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Used to be. He said that the council has met three times in the last one year to look into the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

India said on the Security Council report for 2019, “This delegation keeps on discussing the outdated topic in the Council which needs to be removed from the Council’s agenda forever.” The subject was first raised in the Security Council at a formal meeting on 6 January 1948, and later on 5 November 1965 when it was last considered.

With the cooperation of China, Pakistan has been trying to discuss the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in the Security Council. On 16 August last year, the council had discussed it in a closed room but no result was found.
