After hearing the case, the bench of Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf has summoned the latest status report of the police action.

This is the whole matter

The case was presented on behalf of habeas corpus petitioner Simmi Bai, resident of Raytakheda of Shahpura police station area of ​​Jabalpur. It was argued that the habeas corpus petitioner’s daughter Sheela was married to Dilip Chaudhary. Sheela has two minor daughters. The daughter and both the minor daughters have been missing since April 2023. A report of this was lodged in Shahpura police station.

The son-in-law sold his daughter and granddaughters

In fact, the petitioner has alleged that his son-in-law, along with his aunt Kavita Chaudhary, has sold his (petitioner’s) daughter and minor granddaughters. Despite filing a complaint, the police have not been able to find any clue yet.

Taking the matter seriously, the High Court had earlier issued orders to submit a status report. During further hearing in the case, the High Court found that despite more than a year having passed, the police have still not been able to find the missing mother and daughters. Therefore, the High Court has directed the police to make fresh efforts and submit a fresh status report.
