Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took this entire matter seriously and ordered to suspend the accused policemen. After this, six policemen including the station in-charge were suspended. At the same time, Congress has surrounded the state government in this matter and demanded that an FIR be registered against the policemen.

This is the whole matter

53-year-old Kusum Vanskar, a resident of Jharratikuria in Katni district, and her 16-year-old grandson were brought to the Katni GRP police station in October 2023. It was told that 19 crimes are registered in the GRP police station against Kusum’s district-banished relative Deepak Vanskar. A reward of Rs 10,000 has also been announced against him for absconding in a theft case. To get information about him, the GRP brought Kusum and her grandson to the police station for questioning.

The station in-charge locked both of them in his chamber and beat them with a stick. Along with the station in-charge, some policemen are also seen beating both of them in the video.

On the basis of preliminary investigation, the then station incharge Aruna Vahne, head constable Ajay Srivastava and four constables Varsha Dubey, Omkar Sirsam, Soheb Abbasi and Salman Khan were suspended.

The Chief Minister has directed the police officers to ensure that in future such misconduct is not repeated in the state.

Jeetu Patwari raised questions

In this entire case, state Congress president Jeetu Patwari has raised questions on the police system of the state government. On Thursday, he along with Congressmen reached Katni GRP station demanding registration of FIR against the policemen involved in the case.

Congressmen on their part submitted a complaint letter and demanded that an FIR be registered. On this, BJP’s state media in-charge Ashish Agarwal hit back at the Congress by posting on X.

Said that with the video of October 2023, Congressmen are making unsuccessful attempts to shine their broken politics in August 2024. Finding caste, color in crime and spreading hatred in the society is the politics of Congress.
