Naiduniya representative, Khandwa. On the second Monday of Sawan, devotees took darshan of the beautiful Mahasringar of Lord Omkareshwar. This decoration is done once a year by putting a crown on the original form of Jyotirlinga. The sanctum sanctorum and Sabha Mandap of the temple have also been decorated with flowers. Despite the rain, the faith and enthusiasm of the devotees did not decrease.

After the temple doors opened at 4 am, a large number of devotees visited Omkareshwar-Mamleshwar Jyotirling. On Monday, as per tradition, Lord Omkareshwar and Lord Mamleshwar took a palanquin tour of the city and went boating. Omkareshwar Jyotirling was worshipped in the morning in the pilgrimage town. After the Bhog Aarti in the afternoon, the Lord was adorned with a grand decoration.

The Lord was decorated with flowers, cannabis and nuts and five quintals of sweets were offered to him. At four in the evening, Lord Omkareshwar reached Kotitirth Ghat on the banks of Narmada river in a palanquin from the temple. Here, the Lord was worshipped and anointed under the guidance of Pandit Rajrajeshwar Dixit. The procession route was drenched with flowers and gulal.

Lord Mamleshwar was also worshipped and anointed at Gomukh Ghat. After this, Lord Omkareshwar will reach Gomukh Ghat by boating. From here, both the riders reached JP Chowk on foot from Balwadi. Here the devotees had darshan of the Lord in the pouring rain. After this, the Lord returned to the temple at around 9:30 pm. In view of the crowd, offering water and flowers directly to Lord Omkareshwar has been prohibited from 9 am onwards.

Boat operation and VIP darshan are also prohibited

Pandit Ashish Dixit of the temple trust said that the Lord’s grand decoration takes place only once a year on the second Monday of Sawan. He was crowned with a silver crown. The devotees took darshan with enthusiasm. Collector-SP took charge. In view of the crowd on Sawan Monday, Collector Anoop Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Rai reached Omkareshwar in the morning and kept an eye on every activity.

Police station in-charge Anop Singh Sidhiya said that in view of the crowd, police personnel were deployed in the temple area and on the main road. Policemen and divers were also deployed on the ghats.
