  • The truth behind NASA’s photo of Diwali, see how India looks on the night of Diwali

Diwali night lights photo from NASA went viral.

    HighLights

Satellite image of Diwali lights goes viral. Actually this picture of India is not of Diwali night. It has been made by NOAA to show population growth.

Digital Desk, Naiduniya. Every year during Diwali, a famous ‘satellite image’ goes viral on social media, in which it is claimed that India looks like this from within, lit up with lights on the Diwali night. However, the truth of this picture is actually something else. People often share this photo, but it is important to know the truth behind it.

Why does this picture go viral on Diwali?

Diwali, also known as the ‘Festival of Lights’, is an important festival of the Hindu calendar, also celebrated by Sikhs and Jains. It lasts for five days, where families gather, exchange gifts, eat together and enjoy fireworks.

During Diwali, people decorate their homes, shops and places of worship with lamps and lights, due to which people share such pictures. (The picture shown above is of Diwali celebrated in Ayodhya.)

    viral image

The satellite image that goes viral on social media is not actually of Diwali. This photo is actually a collab (combination) of different photos made by the ‘National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’ (NOAA).

    This image shows the population

According to a BBC report, this photo was created to show India’s population growth, highlighting changes in lighting in cities between 1992 and 2003. The white areas represent city lights as they appeared before 1992, while the blue, green and red areas represent lights as they appeared in 1992, 1998 and 2003, respectively.

    Happy #Diwali!

Image of India taken by NASA on Diwali night

The true satellite image of Diwali night is actually very small. NASA has clarified that the additional light generated during Diwali is so faint that it is very difficult to see from space. In fact, the photo published by NASA in 2012 is the real photo of Diwali night, which eliminates the misconceptions spread about it.

  • Laborer was driving sewage truck, accident happened at Bharat Talkies

Municipal Corporation vehicle damaged after the collision.

    HighLights

Other work is being taken from daily wage labourers. Careless attitude of responsible officials. The worker got injured in the accident. Vehicle damaged.

Navdunia Representative, Bhopal. The negligence of the officer responsible of the Municipal Corporation’s sewage cell is such that heavy vehicles are also being driven by workers. Their example came to light in the Bharat Talkies area of the old city on Tuesday night when a heavy sewage truck hit another truck.

Later it was found that the sewage truck was being driven by a daily wage laborer instead of a skilled driver, whose name is said to be Amar. It is fortunate that when this accident happened, there was not much traffic at that time and there were less people around, due to which there was no loss of life. The laborer driving the sewage truck was injured, but is out of danger.

The shocking thing is that despite knowing about this accident, the responsible officials started covering it up instead of taking it seriously. When RK Trivedi, executive engineer of the sewage cell, was asked about this, he nonchalantly said that the laborer driving the vehicle also had a license.

Most of the employees in the cell are working for 25 days. After listening to this of the Executive Engineer, it would not be wrong to say that due to his negligence some day a major accident may occur. The daily wage worker who should be getting them to do the work of sewage cleaning, is getting them to do other work.

Trivedi has recently come on deputation

Let us tell you here that RK Trivedi has come to the Municipal Corporation on deputation from PHE. His original post in PHE was Deputy Engineer. Therefore, they have no experience in sewage work. Here the question arises that how a sub-engineer was made an executive engineer in the corporation. Whereas there are many officers in the corporation who are eligible for the post of Executive Engineer. Sources say that he assigns work to the employees as per his choice.

  • DNA: Analyzing Bajrang Dal’s ‘Buy Goods From Hindus Only’ Diwali Campaign In MP |

A massive controversy has erupted in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, over a series of posters put up by the Bajrang Dal, urging people to buy Diwali goods only from Hindus. The posters, which have been installed at major intersections, including the busy Karod Chowk, read: “Apna Tyohar, Apnon Se Hi Vyavhar” (Celebrate your festival with your own people).

The poster further states, “Buy Diwali goods from those who can celebrate Diwali with your purchase.” The Bajrang Dal claims that the initiative aims to promote economic self-reliance within the Hindu community and prevent alleged “thook jihad” (spitting jihad), “land jihad,” and “love jihad.”

In today’s episode of DNA news show, Zee News’ Anant Tyagi analyzed the contentious posters put up by Bajrang Dal in Bhopal, urging Hindus to shop exclusively from fellow Hindus this Diwali.

DNA: Diwali festival… ‘Shopping behavior from loved ones’. Will Love Jihad stop if shopping from ‘loved ones’?

Bajrang Dal put up posters in Bhopal, appealing to Hindus to shop on Diwali, it was written on the poster – behave with your own people. Now buy goods from Hindu shopkeepers only?#DNA #Diwali… pic.twitter.com/KuoNV0vgq9

Our ground report takes you to Karod Chowk in Bhopal, where these posters are hard to miss. We spoke directly with Bajrang Dal leaders to understand their rationale. According to them, the posters aim to combat alleged “spit jihad,” “land jihad,” and “love jihad.” They claim that these posters are a necessary measure to protect Hindu interests.

When questioned by Zee News, Bajrang Dal leaders revealed that the poster was also a response to alleged appeals made by the Muslim community during Eid, urging people to buy goods only from Muslims.

This raises questions about the true intent behind the Diwali posters. Is it a response to the alleged Eid campaign, or is it an attempt to enforce economic segregation?

Watch tonight’s episode of DNA here for a detailed analysis of the show:

Ajay Jain, Vidisha (Dhanteras 2024). Vidisha, one of the oldest cities of the country, has a 12 feet high sandstone statue of Kuber, the god of wealth, in a standing posture. This statue, installed at the main entrance of the local archaeological museum, is one of the oldest statues ever found.

According to archaeologists, this second century statue is probably the tallest statue in the country. The darshan of Lord Kuber on Dhanteras is considered especially fruitful. This statue of Kuber, about 12 feet high and two and a half feet wide, is made of a single stone.

In this statue, Kuber is seen wearing a turban on his head. He has Uttari on his shoulder, earrings in his ears and a necklace around his neck. The statue also has a bag in one hand, which is considered to be a bundle of money.

Since the statue is kept in the Archaeological Museum, worship is not allowed here, hence devotees, after worshiping at home on Dhan Teras, reach the museum to see the statue of Kuber. Worship of Kuber is considered especially fruitful.

People used to wash clothes on the back of the statue

Archaeologist Dr. Narayan Vyas tells an interesting story about the discovery of this statue. According to him, for hundreds of years this statue was lying on its stomach in the Bes river passing through the city. People nearby considered it to be an ordinary flat rock and used to wash clothes on it.

Around 1954, when the river water receded, some parts of the statue became clearly visible. The team of Archeology Department brought the statue to the Circuit House. Later, when the Archaeological Museum was built, the statue was installed at its main entrance.

Vidisha traders were once worshipers of Kuber

Archaeologist Dr. Narayan Vyas says that in ancient times Vidisha was a big center of trade. There was a big trade in elephant teeth and iron here. The people of that time might have built this statue to worship Kuber, the god of wealth.

He said that this statue is from the second century. A similar statue of Yakshini was also found in Vidisha, which is kept in the museum of Kolkata.

Kuber is also mentioned in Ramayana, in which Kuber is described as Ravana’s brother. Pushpak Vimana belonged to Kubera, which was snatched by Ravana.
