Vivek Sagar, a player from Shivnagar Chandaun village, situated 15 km away from Itarsi, also performed well. As soon as the news of India’s victory in the Olympics came, the players of Vivek’s village Chandaun and the District Hockey Association near the city’s Gandhi Maidan started celebrating.

With drums, hockey players, Vivek’s friends, village youth and his brother Vidyasagar Prasad started celebrating the victory. Here they danced a lot while shouting slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Sweets were distributed in the village. Vidyasagar said that as soon as the news of the team’s victory spread, Vivek’s fans and friends gathered in the village, the whole village celebrated this victory.

Vidyasagar said that before going to Paris to play, Vivek had said that this time too we will bring glory to the country in Paris. The entire team has performed well under the captain’s leadership. He has not been able to talk to Vivek yet, as Vivek is still in the corridor, but the entire village and city is waiting for him to come. This time too a grand welcome ceremony will be organized on Vivek’s return.

Here, the officials of the District Hockey Association danced to the beats of drums, waving the tricolor in celebration of the victory at Major Dhyanchand Square. The children who had come to practice on the ground with the players also celebrated the victory of the Indian team. DHA Secretary Kanhaiya Guryani said that our team has achieved success once again.
