PM Modi to lay foundation stone of 4-lane Vikramashila bridge parallel to Phoolaut bridge in Bhagalpur today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will present the gift of two mega projects worth Rs 2588 crore to Bhagalpur on Monday. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the bridge, which will be constructed at Phulaut on Kosi river between Vikramshila and Veerapur-Bihpur.
Both these schemes were in demand for years. With their formation, the road from East Bihar to Seemanchal and Kosi will be easier. Executive Engineer of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Ramsuresh Rai said that a fourlane bridge parallel to Vikramshila bridge between Bhagalpur to Navagachia will be constructed in four years at a cost of Rs 1110 crore. The 29 meter wide bridge will be 4.455 km long. This bridge, which is parallel to Vikramshila on the Ganges river, will be connected to Jiromile ahead and the other end near Jahnavi Chowk in Navagachia.
A four-lane bridge will be built on the Kosi river, a four-lane bridge will be
built on the Kosi river in Phulaut on Bihpur-Virpur NH-106. The length of the bridge along the access path will be 28.94 km. It is estimated to cost 1478.40 crores. The Executive Engineer informed that for the foundation stone laying ceremony will be held at the Women’s ITI located in Giromile in Bhagalpur and Hariyo School in Bihpur. In addition to officers of DM, bridge construction corporation, administrative and police officers will be present in Bhagalpur. In this, seating for a total of 90 people has been arranged by putting on masks with social distance. Arrangements have been made for live broadcasting of the foundation stone ceremony through LED TV.
