Naiduniya News, Ratlam/Kalukheda. The body of 10-month-old girl Tannu, who was kidnapped from village Lasudia Nathi a week ago, has been found in a well in the village. She was kidnapped by her neighbour Dashrath Kataria.

After kidnapping the girl, he took her to a well located about half a kilometer away from her house and murdered her and threw her body in the well. Police has taken him into custody from village Varotha of village Hathunia police station area of ​​Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan. The body was taken out from the well on his indication. The reason for kidnapping and murder is not yet known. Police is questioning him as to why he kidnapped and murdered her.

It is noteworthy that on the night of 17 August 2024, the girl Tannu was sleeping in a room with her mother Prembai at the house of her maternal uncle Karulal Kharol, resident of village Lasudiya Nathi. Then between 10 and 12 at night, someone kidnapped Tannu from the open window of the house. When mother Prembai woke up at 12 in the night, she could not see her daughter.

With the help of villagers, she was searched in the village, but she could not be traced. Police also reached the village after getting information late at night. Since then, police is also searching for Tannu. SP Rahul Kumar Lodha, ASP Rakesh Khakha, Jawara CSP Durgesh Armo etc. also reached the village. Seven police teams were searching for the girl and the kidnapper.

According to sources, after the incident, the police had also questioned neighbour Dashrath Kataria, son of Ramlal Kataria, resident of village Lasudiya Nathi, but he denied kidnapping the girl. He was released after questioning. Two days later, he went away from the village. Since then, he was under suspicion and the police was searching for him.

The police received information on Sunday that the suspect was hiding in his in-laws’ house in village Varotha, police station Hathunia, district Pratapgarh. The police team reached there and with the help of Hathunia police searched for the accused Dashrath and took him into custody and brought him to Kalukheda police station.

During interrogation, he told that after kidnapping and killing the girl, he had thrown the body in a well in the village. At around five in the evening, Javora CSP Durgesh Armo, SDOP Shakti Singh Chauhan, Kalukheda police station in-charge Neelam Chaungar etc. reached the well with a team. After this, the body of the girl was taken out from the well. Due to the field being filled with water and mud, police station in-charge Neelam Chaungar carried the body of the girl in her lap to the main road. After this, the body was placed in a vehicle and taken to the medical college for post-mortem.

The police has not officially disclosed the case of arresting the accused and finding the dead body of the girl. The police has said that information about the disclosure of the girl’s case will be given in a press conference organized at the new police control room on August 26 at 2 pm.

On August 18, the second day of the kidnapping, the police called the dog squad to the crime scene. The dog (sniffer dog) stayed at the crime scene for some time and then left from there and stopped near a house in Banchhada camp located in village Chiklana, about two and a half kilometers away. This raised suspicion that the kidnapper had reached Banchhada camp and someone from there could also be involved in the incident.

The police had questioned many people from the camp. According to sources, someone had told the police that the accused Dashrath had gone to the camp to buy liquor on the night of the incident. He was under suspicion since then. The police had also questioned him, but he had denied kidnapping the girl. He was released after questioning. Two days later, he went missing from the village. This had increased suspicion on him.
