Land acquisition work is going on under phase in Ken Betwa project.

Naiduniya Representative, Chhatarpur: The 44 thousand crore Ken Betwa project is ready to take shape in Bundelkhand. Preparations have begun to displace 14 villages falling under the purview of Ken Betwa. Land acquisition work is going on in these villages. There are about four thousand families in 14 villages whose land is to be acquired. Land acquisition work has been done for about 2700 families.
The places near the villages where these families are to be displaced have been identified. The people who settle there will be given the option of plots or compensation. The displaced families can either take the plots or compensation amount of Rs. 12,500 per hectare. Such a road map has been drawn at the departmental level.
Distribution of compensation after land acquisition
Under the first phase, land acquisition work is going on. After the completion of this work, compensation amount will be distributed. After that the Ken Betwa project will start taking shape. Right now people’s opinion is being taken about what they want. Let us tell you that this work of connecting Ken Betwa will end the water crisis in more than a dozen districts of Madhya Pradesh and UP.
Selection of village area to be displaced
The special thing is that due to this project the picture of the villages to be displaced can change. Because the villages which are there now are far from the forest area and cities. Where people have to face problems of health, roads, education etc. Initially four villages have been identified to displace these villages.
Facilities will be available in selected villages
These include four villages including Kishangarh, Raipura, Nandgaybachchan. Where displaced people will get facilities like roads, water, children’s education and health facilities. Dhodhan, Khariyani, Bhorkhuan, Palakouhan, Sukwaha, Kupi, Naigawan, Shahpura, Mainari, Pathapur etc. villages of Chhatarpur district are included.
Land acquisition work is currently underway in the Ken Betwa project. Land acquisition work for about 2700 families has been completed. Opinion is being sought from the people whether they will take the plot or compensation. After their opinion is finalized, the further process will begin.

Years of waiting are over
Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Niwari, Shivpuri and UP’s Mahoba, Banda, Jhansi and Lalitpur districts have been waiting for years for the Ken Betwa project. Because the graph of Ken Betwa in Bundelkhand was drawn years ago. The implementation of which has started now.
Dam will be built on Dhodhan village
A dam will be built in the Dhodhan village area of this project. This will provide both farming and electricity to the farmers. The core area of the park will be expanded in 11 villages that are outside the submergence area. About 6,170 hectares of PTR land is being submerged in this project. Out of this, 4141 hectares of land is in the core area.
