The thief who stole old coins from Bhopal’s State Museum was arrested, he had entered with a ticket on the pretext of visiting

Bhopal. On Tuesday afternoon, the police arrested an injured thief outside the State Museum located in Shyamala Hills. The thief had come to steal coins from the Gupta period to the Sultanate period from the State Museum.

On Tuesday morning, museum staff found him lying injured on the ground.

Later, the museum staff informed the Shyamala Hills police station about this, and the police force including the top officials including the police commissioner reached the State Museum. Initial investigation has revealed that the thief had come to the State Museum on Sunday with a ticket, and after the museum closed, he hid there.

He was caught with the stolen goods on Monday. According to the police, 2,000-year-old coins from the Gupta period, British period and Nawabi period, worth about Rs 8 crore, have been seized from the thief. Police action is still underway.
