Case of skeleton found in Maholi forest. Police took two people in custody, two are absconding. Police was also accused of negligence.
Navdunia representative, Bhopal. Chola Mandir police station has solved the case of missing farmer Suraj Raikwar’s skeleton found in the forest of Maholi on Friday morning. Police have taken two accused into custody on charges of murder, while a police team has gone to Raisen in search of the two absconding accused.
During investigation, the police came to know that due to an old rivalry, Nitesh Panthee of the village had taken Suraj to the jungle of Maholi in the name of a liquor party. Three of Nitesh’s friends were also present there. As soon as the intoxication of alcohol took over, Nitesh and his friends stabbed Suraj repeatedly with a knife and killed him.
After that the body was thrown in the forest. The police have taken Nitesh and Chuttilal Raikwar into custody on the charge of murder. On the other hand, on Saturday, Suraj’s relatives and people of the society created a ruckus at the police station and accused the police of negligence.
Chola Mandir police station in-charge Sureshchandra Raikwar said that 45-year-old Suraj Raikwar, a resident of Khejra, was a farmer. Suraj had gone missing since the night of July 28. On July 29, his wife Santoshi Bai had lodged a missing report of her husband. On Friday morning, a skeleton was found in the forest of Maholi.
Based on the clothes found on him and the slippers lying nearby, the relatives identified the deceased as Suraj Raikwar. In this case, based on the statements of relatives and CCTV footage, the police detained suspect Nitesh Panthee, a resident of Khejra, and questioned him. Nitesh confessed to killing Suraj along with Chutti Lal, Prashant and Sandeep Ahirwar.
