Weather of MP: Flood like situation in Damoh, Seoni, Sagar, Yellow alert for rain in 24 districts including Gwalior, Jabalpur

Navdunia Representative, Bhopal: Due to the effect of low pressure area formed over Madhya Pradesh, heavy rains occurred in many cities of eastern Madhya Pradesh during the last 24 hours. Due to this, flood like conditions arose in Damoh, Seoni, Mandla, Sagar districts. However, the low pressure area has weakened and moved towards Jharkhand along with the formation of a cyclone in the upper part of the air. Due to this, there is no possibility of heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh now.

Moderate rain in Gwalior, Chambal division

According to meteorologists, there may be moderate rainfall at some places in Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa, Sagar, Gwalior and Chambal division districts on Wednesday. There are chances of sporadic rainfall in the remaining area. Madhya Pradesh has received 351.1 mm rainfall from June 1 to 8:30 am on July 23, which is two percent less than the normal rainfall (359.6 mm).

Heavy rain in these districts

On Tuesday, from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, Satna recorded 27 mm rainfall, Jabalpur 18 mm, Khajuraho and Dhar 13 mm, Shivpuri and Malajkhand nine mm, Narmadapuram, Indore and Naugaon six mm, Umaria and Sagar five mm, Tikamgarh and Damoh three mm, Narsinghpur and Khandwa two mm, Bhopal, Mandla, Gwalior and Rewa one mm and Ujjain and Guna recorded 0.2 mm rainfall.

According to the information received from the Meteorological Center, the monsoon trough is present from Bikaner, Sikar, Gwalior, Khajuraho, Ranchi, Digha to the Bay of Bengal. After the weakening of the low pressure, a cyclone has formed in the upper part of the air over Jharkhand. There is a cyclone in the upper part of the air over western Uttar Pradesh.

Light showers will occur along with thunderstorms

A cyclone is also present in the upper part of the air over south-western Rajasthan. Wind shear is present around Maharashtra. Apart from this, an offshore trough is present from Gujarat to Karnataka.

Former senior meteorologist of Meteorological Centre Ajay Shukla said that the low pressure area formed over eastern Madhya Pradesh has moved towards Jharkhand after weakening. Due to this, there is a possibility of reduction in rainfall activities in Madhya Pradesh.

However, due to the monsoon trough remaining in Madhya Pradesh, there may be moderate rainfall at some places in the districts of Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa, Sagar Gwalior, Chambal division. Light showers with thunder and lightning may occur in the remaining areas.

Heavy rainfall in Bijadandi of Mandla, more than 10 inches of rain fell

In the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Tuesday, Bijadandi in Mandla district received 272.3 mm (more than 10 inches) of rainfall. Damoh received 190 mm, Seoni 146.8 mm, Sagar 142.8 mm, Mandla 71.1 mm, Narsinghpur 62 mm, Pachmarhi 60.6 mm, Jabalpur 58.6 mm, Umaria 52.4 mm, Guna 37.6 mm, Chhindwara 34.8 mm, Malajkhand 29 mm, Narmadapuram 24.6 mm, Bhopal 23.1 mm and Betul received 13.6 mm of rain.

Hospital closed due to heavy rain in Porsa of Morena

There was heavy rain for about 45 minutes in Porsa town on Tuesday. After this, the entire town was flooded with people. The community health center itself was filled with about one to one and a half feet of water, the old police quarters were filled with water to such an extent that household items also started floating in the water. The condition of the markets also became worse.
