Naiduniya Representative, Bhopal: The depression formed in the Bay of Bengal is moving towards Madhya Pradesh in the west-north-west direction passing through Vidarbha on Tuesday. In view of this, monsoon activities are expected to continue in the state, but in the next 24 hours it will weaken and turn into a low pressure area. As a result, monsoon activities will decrease.

Former senior meteorologist of the Meteorological Department, Ajay Shukla, said that due to the powerful depression, the monsoon trough has also come down. At present, the monsoon trough is going from Ganganagar, Raisen to the Bay of Bengal via the depression located in Vidarbha, due to which moisture is coming to the state. This monsoon system will move forward towards Madhya Pradesh, but in the meantime it will also weaken.
However, in the meantime, another low pressure area is going to form in the Bay of Bengal on September 5. If this system also moves on the right path, then monsoon activities may remain strong in the state even in the second week of September. At the same time, the western and southern parts of the state received good rainfall in the last 24 hours.
Bhopal, Indore received 9 mm rainfall
Between 8.30 am on Sunday and 8.30 am on Monday, the highest rainfall of 104 mm was recorded in Khargone. Apart from this, 73 mm rainfall was recorded in Khandwa, 39 mm in Ujjain, 33 mm in Ratlam, 30 mm in Dhar, 28.9 mm in Narmadapuram and 23 mm in Bhopal. Light showers continued during the day on Monday as well and 11 mm rainfall was recorded in Bhopal and 9 mm in Indore.
