Nissan has announced the relaunch of its popular Leaf EV, incorporating a new design and several updates. This effort is part of Nissan’s strategy to advance sustainable mobility and regain the strong market position the Leaf once held. The new Nissan Leaf will be offered for sale across global markets.

The updated Leaf presents a fastback-like design, including flush door handles, aero-tuned wheels, and a flat underbody. Built on the CMF-EV platform, which also underpins other Nissan vehicles, the new Leaf will be offered with either a 52 kWh or a 75 kWh battery. The anticipated range from these batteries is between 430 km and 600 km.

Further enhancements involve a three-in-one electric motor and a heat pump to boost the heating system’s efficiency. The car also boasts a redesigned dashboard with a pair of 14.3-inch screens running a Google-based infotainment system, along with a range of semi-autonomous features and driving technologies.

The new Leaf will be manufactured at the Tochigi plant in Japan and the Nissan facility in Sunderland, UK. Given Nissan’s plans to re-enter the Indian market, the Leaf is a potential candidate for an India launch.
