Nissan, the manufacturer of the popular Magnite, is developing a mid-size SUV for the Indian market. This is part of a two-product plan that includes a compact MPV similar to the Renault Triber. The mid-size SUV will be built on the third-generation Renault Duster platform and is anticipated to launch in India in 2026. Testing of the vehicle is already underway.

A test vehicle of the upcoming Nissan C-segment SUV was seen on Indian roads. It is expected to be available for sale by the middle of 2026. The vehicle was spotted during testing in Tamil Nadu. The exterior design is heavily covered, making it difficult to discern its specific features.

The design is expected to closely mirror the concept model shown earlier. The vehicle will share the CMF-B platform with the Renault version, but the Nissan version will feature a design unique to Nissan.

The design appears to draw inspiration from the Nissan Patrol, with features such as a signature grille, the Nissan logo, and LED daytime running lights. The front bumper design will set it apart from the Renault model. The side profile will have square wheel arches, cladding, and alloy wheels. The rear will include a sculpted tailgate, a roof spoiler, square tail-lights, and a shark-fin antenna. Details about the interior have not yet been released.

The SUV is expected to use the Renault Duster’s powertrain, which provides a variety of engine and transmission options in international markets. Nissan is expected to offer both naturally aspirated and turbo petrol engines in India, with a strong hybrid option potentially being added later.
