Amidst the heightened anticipation for the Nobel Peace Prize announcement, President Donald Trump has adopted a cautious stance on his prospects for the award, stating he ‘doesn’t know’ what the future holds. Despite his earlier public campaigning, Trump chose to focus his remarks on his administration’s perceived accomplishments in global diplomacy. He reiterated his claim of having successfully concluded ‘seven wars’ and expressed optimism that a recent ceasefire in Gaza would represent an eighth resolution. A key example cited by Trump was his alleged role in defusing a potential military confrontation between India and Pakistan. He described the situation as a grave threat involving ‘two nuclear nations’ and asserted that his strategy, which involved imposing substantial trade tariffs, was instrumental in preventing escalation. ‘I used tariffs to stop a nuclear conflict,’ Trump insisted, explaining that the economic pressure led to an immediate halt in hostilities. While appearing humble about the Nobel Prize, Trump emphasized that his driving force was humanitarian. ‘I didn’t do it for that. I did it because I saved a lot of lives,’ he stated, highlighting his administration’s unparalleled record of conflict resolution within a nine-month span.
