Noida Authority is preparing to deploy 500 electric buses to modernize public transportation in Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway region. The project is budgeted at Rs 675 crore and is expected to be finalized in about 250 days, with a phased implementation. Two private companies have been chosen after the tender process. The electric bus services will operate on 25 routes, incorporating both major internal routes and connections to the Noida International Airport (Jewar). Proposed routes include Shashi Chowk to Ace City, Kasna Village to Sharda University, Tigri Gol Chakkar to Rajnigandha Chowk, Ek Murti Chowk to Gautam Buddha University, Botanical Garden to Sampurnam, and Dadri to Gautam Buddha University via Kasna. The annual operational expenditure is approximately Rs 370 crore, with an expected annual income of Rs 145 crore from rent and advertising. Complementing this, a 30 km expressway has been approved by the Central Government to connect Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and the forthcoming Jewar International Airport, designed to reduce travel times and ease traffic issues. This expressway will run alongside the current Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, running along the Yamuna River.
