North India is currently experiencing a severe heatwave, with Delhi and other states facing extreme temperatures. The monsoon’s advancement has slowed. Many regions across the country are seeing temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius. In Delhi, the heat has rendered cooling systems ineffective. Uttar Pradesh is also dealing with high temperatures.

Today, Delhi’s maximum temperature could reach 43 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. Dusty winds and heat waves are expected during the daytime. The weather is anticipated to change this evening, with thunderstorms and the potential for light rain late at night. Delhi is likely to experience rainfall from June 13th to 16th, which would provide a significant break from the heat.

Uttar Pradesh is expected to have varied weather, with some areas receiving light showers while others, mainly in Western UP and Bundelkhand, may face heat waves for the next couple of days. The arrival of the monsoon in UP is expected by June 15th, offering the possibility of relief.

In Bihar, Wednesday was marked by intense heat, although some areas received heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. However, South Bihar is still suffering from the heat. Jharkhand is likely to experience thunderstorms, strong winds, and lightning throughout the day.

Rajasthan is currently under a severe heatwave, although a weather shift is anticipated. A rain alert has been issued for four districts on June 14th. Madhya Pradesh has issued an orange alert for heat waves and a yellow alert for rainfall in several districts.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in central Karnataka. Coastal and interior Karnataka may also receive moderate to heavy rainfall. Eastern and northern Tamil Nadu are under a very heavy rainfall warning. Andhra Pradesh and Yanam could experience heavy rain. Maharashtra is expected to receive heavy rainfall in several areas over the next 4-5 days.
