Odisha Government to Enhance Early Education with New Appointments

Odisha’s government will appoint ‘Sishu Sebikas’ to work in Sishu Vatikas across the state, according to an official statement. This decision is aimed at supporting teachers in managing children in pre-primary classes, allowing them to concentrate on academics. The Sishu Vatikas, established in government-run primary schools, provide pre-school education to children aged 5-6 under the National Education Policy. The number of Sishu Sebikas appointed will be based on the enrollment figures at each Sishu Vatika. The program will be funded under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, with salaries matching those of midday meal cooks. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is optimistic that this will improve pre-school education quality.
