The Odisha government is introducing the Draft EV Policy 2025, which will provide enhanced subsidies for electric vehicles. The new policy includes raising the subsidy for registering electric two-wheelers to ₹30,000, a rise from the previous ₹20,000. This move is part of the government’s strategy to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the state.

The policy will offer incentives at a rate of ₹5,000 per kWh of battery capacity for electric two-wheelers, with a maximum subsidy of ₹30,000. The policy also includes incentives for electric three-wheelers, four-wheelers, taxis, trucks, and buses. For four-wheeler light motor vehicles (transport) or taxis, the incentives will increase from ₹1.50 lakh to ₹2 lakh. Moreover, the government will provide an incentive of ₹20 lakh for the registration of electric buses.
