    On an average, 27 drug dealers are being caught every day. Assets worth more than Rs 115 crore seized from 29 criminals. Action taken against 74 criminals, 43 from Indore.

    State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal. Even though a factory manufacturing MD drugs was caught in Bhopal this month, the illegal drug trade has been running rampant in the state since before this. This can be estimated from the police information that from January 2023 till now, seven thousand 886 accused of drug trafficking have been arrested in six thousand 161 cases in the entire state. That means on an average 27 accused are caught every day. Maximum action has been taken against the accused in Mandsaur and Neemuch.

    Assets worth more than Rs 115 crore seized

    Assets worth more than Rs 115 crore of 29 criminals have been seized or frozen across the state, out of which 23 are from these two districts. Dhanraj alias Dhanna of Nahargarh has assets worth 14 crores, Shyam Singh of Narayangarh has assets worth 10 crores, Piyush Banjara of Mansa has more than 10 crores, Ashok father Mangilal Patidar of Sitamau has assets worth eight crores and Tahir father Shafi Mohammad of Afzalpur has assets worth more than three crores. Has been confiscated.

    So far this year, action has been taken against a total of 74 criminals under the NDPS Act, which includes 43 accused from Indore, five each from Mandsaur and Ujjain and four each from Neemuch and Ratlam.

    Police will reach out to criminals from other states

    Director General of Police (DGP) Sudhir Saxena has asked all district superintendents of police to trace the top-down and bottom-up network of illegal drug trade. He said that by tracking the links and networks of the accused, collect information about their movements and find out their nexus.

    Collect data of movable and immovable property and financial transactions of the accused. Collect information about criminals of the state and other states involved in drug trade. The DGP has also ordered to update the information of all the arrested suspects on the NCORD portal.
