Big relief to medical institutions up to 30 beds, exemption from requirement of fire NOC and no objection certificate for biomedical waste.

Historic step to expand health facilities: Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal

Raipur, 17 December 2024/On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, a new notification has been issued giving great relief to the medical institutions by amending the Chhattisgarh State Hospital and Treatment Related Establishments Licensing Rules 2013. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal has expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister, calling this change a historic step for expanding health facilities.

Under this notification, the rules for registering hospitals up to 30 beds under the Chhattisgarh State Hospital and Treatment Related Establishments Licensing Rules 2013 have been made flexible. According to the notification, now all the clinics in the state will be given automatic license after giving an affidavit to follow the prescribed parameters along with the application, which they can download online. Of these, 10 percent institutions will be inspected and if any deficiencies are found, the said deficiencies will have to be rectified within a month.

Hospitals ranging from 1 to 10 beds will be granted license after submitting an affidavit along with the application to follow the norms and they will have to fulfill the norms within 3 months. Hospitals with 11 to 30 beds will have to apply as per the rules and the license will be issued after inspection by the medical officer within 3 months. If this process is not completed within 3 months, then such institutions will be considered automatically registered and will be able to download the copy of the license online.

Hospitals with more than 30 beds will have to follow all the rules in advance to get the license, but they are exempted from the obligation of fire NOC and no objection certificate for biomedical waste. For this they will have to follow separate rules.
With the simplification of rules, it will now be much easier for clinics and hospitals with up to 30 beds to register. This will expand health services and the people of the state will get the benefit of more health facilities than before.
