    On the occasion of Children’s Day, former child journalists and youth from UNICEF met Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren.

    Ranchi. On the occasion of Children’s Day, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren had an intimate conversation with former child journalists and youth from UNICEF at the Chief Minister’s residential office on Kanke Road, Ranchi. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to them on Children’s Day and Jharkhand Foundation Day. Addressing the former child journalists and youth from UNICEF present, the Chief Minister said that 25 years ago Jharkhand began its journey as a state, and in the same year, many of today’s youth were taking their first steps in childhood. The Chief Minister said that our government is operating several different schemes for the holistic development of the present and future generations of children, so that they can be given a better direction. The Chief Minister said that our children and youth are the future of the state and the country; only by making them strong in every way can the vision of a prosperous and developed state be fulfilled.

    Students are being provided financial assistance through scholarship schemes

    Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that the state government is operating several ambitious schemes to financially strengthen students pursuing higher education in primary, middle, and high schools, as well as colleges. Financial assistance is being provided to students by giving them the benefit of various types of scholarship schemes. The Chief Minister said that poverty has been the biggest obstacle for our children in receiving education. Until a few years ago, children from poor and needy families could not get an education, but our government has worked to bring a positive change in the education system, where poverty does not become a barrier in the path of children’s development. The Chief Minister said that the state government has upgraded 80 government schools as CM Schools of Excellence, where quality education is being provided to children from poor and needy families on the lines of private schools. In the coming time, there is a plan to convert a large number of government schools into CM Schools of Excellence so that our young generation can be provided better education even in remote rural areas.

    The state government will continue to operate schemes in a phased manner as per the need

    Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that several different schemes are being operated to make the students studying in our state’s schools physically and mentally healthy. In the coming time, the state government will continue to operate schemes in a phased manner as per the need. The Chief Minister told all the former child journalists and youth from UNICEF present that just as all of you are benefiting from the government’s schemes, similarly, you should work to connect those of your companions who are deprived of the benefits of the schemes with the government’s schemes. The Chief Minister said that our government rewards the top students of 10th and 12th every year. Along with this, meritorious students are also provided with honorariums, including laptops and mobile phones. Secretary, Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security, Shri Manoj Kumar was also present on this occasion.

    Informed the Chief Minister about the benefits being received from the schemes..

    Former child journalists from UNICEF and girls from KGBV (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya) and JBAV (Jharkhand Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya) in Jharkhand, who participated in this program, informed the Chief Minister about how schemes and policies related to women and child development, such as Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana, Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana, Samar Abhiyan, Gyan Setu, Guruji Credit Card Yojana, CM School of Excellence, Mukhyamantri Sarathi Yojana, MHM Labs, inclusion of eggs in mid-day meals, Eco Club, Clean and Green Campus, and Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar have played a vital role in ensuring education, health, nutrition, and holistic development for them and opening doors to opportunities. All the former child journalists and youth present expressed their gratitude and thanks to Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren and the Jharkhand government. All shared their experiences and informed the Chief Minister about how urban and rural students are getting opportunities to move forward through all these schemes. All stated that the benefits of the schemes have provided great relief to their families.

    Appreciation of the state government’s work..

    UNICEF Jharkhand Chief, Dr. Kaninika Mitra, congratulated the Chief Minister on the completion of 25 years of Jharkhand state’s establishment and appreciated his commitment towards children and youth, saying that the Chief Minister’s presence at the youth program demonstrates how vigilant and committed the state government is to providing every child in Jharkhand an opportunity to progress. The youth present here are the living results of the investment made by the Jharkhand government for their development and they are also excellent benchmarks for the state’s development. UNICEF Jharkhand’s Communication, Advocacy, and Partnership Specialist, Ms. Astha Alang, said that today is not just a day to look back, but also a day to look forward to fulfilling the hopes and dreams of children. The words of these youth remind us that every child’s right is important and every child should get an opportunity to fulfill their dreams.

    Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren said that I feel very good talking to all of you child journalists and youth. I once again extend my best wishes to all of you on Children’s Day and Jharkhand Foundation Day. The Chief Minister appreciated the work being done by UNICEF Jharkhand.
