    Raipur. 06 December 2024. MB at Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur. B. S. A grand “White Coat Ceremony” was organized to administer the oath of medical code of conduct to the newly admitted students in the first year. The Governor of Chhattisgarh State, Shri Ramen Deka had the dignified presence of the Chief Guest in this program. Dr. Vivek Chaudhary, Dean of Pt. Nehru Medical College, said in his welcome address that M.B. B. S. It is a matter of great pride for the college to administer the Maharishi Charak Code of Medical Conduct oath to 230 newly admitted first year students in the presence of the Governor. Dr. Arvind Neral, President of the Medical Teachers Association, gave information about the moral values ​​and ideals to be followed while practicing the medical profession. Dr. Neral said that apart from medicines, patients expect friendliness, smile and friendly behavior from an ideal doctor. Medical science is the most humane of all the sciences and the most scientific of all the humanities. A doctor keeps learning all his life like a student.

    Dean Dr. Vivek Chaudhary administered the oath of Charak Code of Conduct to the students, the words said by him were repeated by 230 newly admitted students by raising their right hands.

    Chief guest Governor Shri Ramen Deka, while explaining the importance of the White Coat Ceremony to the medical students, said that it is very important to always remember the oath you have taken today. The field of medicine is a service as well as a dignified profession in which it is necessary to take care that “this white coat remains spotless”. Referring to Charak Samhita and some experiences related to personal life, he said that a doctor should be adept in the art of knowing the root causes of disease. As a doctor, you should have the ability to take better decisions to save the life of the patient during the golden hour. Praising the medical service, courage and work of doctors and medical personnel during the global pandemic Covid-19, the Governor said that whatever you all did for human service is incomparable.

    After the Governor's address, a musical presentation of “Hum Tumhe Saath Hain, We are the Doctors, We are Always There for You” was given by the students, highlighting their social responsibilities. M.B. B. S. Students who excelled in medical courses were honored with gold medals.
