One killed, 14 injured in grenade blast in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province: report

At least one individual was killed and 14 others, together with two kids, have been injured when unidentified miscreants threw a hand grenade at a roadside stall promoting Pakistani nationwide flags within the nation’s restive Balochistan province, a media report stated on Friday.

The incident occurred on Thursday night time in Quetta’s Joint street space when unknown motorcyclists hurled the grenade on the stalls promoting nationwide flags and different ornament objects forward of the Independence Day on August 14, The Express Tribune newspaper reported.

Police stated one individual was killed within the assault.

“There are at least 14 others injured including two children and they were all taken to the hospital. Doctors say the condition of those injured is stable,” the report stated.

So far no militant group has claimed duty for the assault.

Resource-rich Balochistan, bordering Iran and Afghanistan, is residence to a long-running violent insurgency.

Baloch rebel teams have beforehand carried out a number of assaults concentrating on the USD 60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiatives.
