Security forces are locked in a fierce battle with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district as Operation Trash-1 enters a critical phase. Early Saturday, troops re-established contact with militants in Dolgam, triggering heavy gunfire that persists amid a tightly sealed cordon.

The White Knight Corps spearheaded the joint effort with J&K Police and CRPF, leveraging precise intelligence to encircle the terror hideout. This development caps 12 days of exhaustive searches following an initial clash on January 18.

That earlier encounter in Sonari, northeast of Chatru, claimed the life of a brave paratrooper, whose sacrifice galvanized the forces. The Army’s heartfelt tribute emphasized his selfless devotion, fueling the resolve to hunt down the perpetrators.

In preparation, mobile internet was shut down across a broad swath including Dolgam to sever digital lifelines for the militants. As operations continue, the focus remains on neutralizing the threat without collateral damage.

Kishtwar’s volatile landscape has long tested the mettle of India’s defenders. Operation Trash-1 exemplifies their tenacity, transforming intelligence into action and ensuring no terrorist finds safe haven. The outcome of this standoff could significantly bolster regional stability.
