Online Property Tax Payment Facility in 53 Urban Bodies of the State Providing Online Property Tax Payment Facility in 53 Municipal Bodies of the State The Department of Urban Administration and Development continues to launch new initiatives to modernize local governance and provide home-based services. For the convenience of families living in cities, an online property tax payment facility is being provided in 53 municipal bodies. With this facility, people can pay their property tax from home or office anytime. Citizens of urban bodies with this facility no longer need to go to an office or queue. They can submit it at their convenience. The Department has started this facility in 46 new municipal bodies this August, providing home-based property tax payment. Previously, online property tax facility was available only in the seven municipal corporations of Raipur, Durg, Risai, Bhilai, Bilaspur, Korba and Raigarh. In August 2025, the facility was launched in three more municipal corporations—Bargarh, Bhilai-Choroda and Dhamtari—and also in 43 municipalities. Through the GIS-based Property Tax Live Portal, property tax can now be paid online from any of the 53 municipal bodies across the state. In these municipalities, the online property tax payment facility is available. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai launched the GIS-based Property Tax Live Portal in 43 municipalities at the “Swachhata Sangam” organized in Bilaspur by the Department of Urban Administration and Development on 12 August. From August 2025, citizens in the municipalities of Tilda-Navra, Gobaran Wapara, Arang, Gariyabandi, Balod Bazaar, Bhata Pur, Mahasamund, Bagbhara, Sarai Pali, Kumhari, Ahivara, Jamul, Balod, Dalli Rajhara, Bemotra, Dongarga, Khairagarh, Koverda, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Kanker, Kirandul, Bade Bacheli, Dantewara, Sukma, Beejapur, Takhatpur, Ratnpur, Mungeli, Deepka, Kaṭgharā, Jangīri-Naila, Chapā, Saktī, Akaltara, Kharsia, Sarangh, Jashpur, Balrampur, Surajpur, Manendragarh, Bakunthpur and Shivpur Charcha, the facility to pay property tax online is available. “Providing transparent, simple and convenient services to all citizens of Chhattisgarh is the highest priority of our government. The online property tax payment facility in urban bodies is a major step in this direction. People no longer have to circulate offices or stand in long queues to pay tax. We are pleased that the digital facilities are reaching remote areas such as Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Kanker, Dantewara, Sukma and Beejapur, with people paying tax online from home. This is a significant achievement towards realizing the commitment of “Digital Chhattisgarh” alongside the modernization of local governance. Our goal is to make urban services fully online and citizen‑centric, so that every family enjoys convenience, transparency and time savings—all three benefits.” – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai “The online property tax payment facility in urban bodies has directly benefited millions of city residents. This system is a major improvement towards transparent governance, e‑governance and the expansion of digital services. Now residents of remote municipalities like Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Kanker, Dantewara, Sukma, Beejapur can easily pay taxes from home. This will save citizens time, reduce the chances of corruption, and increase the efficiency of local self‑government. Our government is committed to making urban services fully online, simple and citizen‑centric.” – Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw
