The Chhattisgarh government’s decision to use OTPs for ration card verification is causing hardship for people, especially in rural areas. Poor network connections in these areas are making it difficult for people to get their rations, creating problems for shop owners and customers alike.

Those living in areas with slow or unreliable internet are facing difficulties with the OTP system. It’s now taking a long time to receive the OTPs, which means people have to wait a long time at the ration shops, and some are having to wait days. The older fingerprint system was much better as it could handle more customers in a day. The government is being asked to either bring back the fingerprint system or to allow both the OTP and fingerprint systems.

The slow process means that fewer people are getting their rations. People who rely on the ration shops for their food are now worried that they won’t get enough food. There is also a problem with kerosene, which hasn’t been available in ration shops for eight months. The government is asked to fix the OTP system and also make sure that kerosene is available in the villages.
