Central London was the site of one of the biggest demonstrations in recent UK history on September 14, 2025. The protest, which involved over 100,000 people, was organized by far-right groups and focused on anti-immigration sentiments. The police force reported that a number of officers were injured and attacked with objects during the demonstrations. Footage showed large crowds moving towards Westminster, the location of the UK Parliament. The ‘Unite the Kingdom’ march was organized by Tommy Robinson. A counter-protest, arranged by ‘Stand Up To Racism,’ took place at the southern end of Whitehall, accompanied by a strong police presence. The Metropolitan Police Service reported that 26 officers were injured, and 25 individuals were arrested as a result of the clashes. The police operation has now ended, and central London has returned to normal. The violence and attacks on officers were condemned by London Mayor Sadiq Khan. The Union flag, the red and white St George’s Cross, as well as American and Israeli flags, were displayed, and slogans critical of Prime Minister Keir Starmer were chanted during the event.
