Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a late change to their white-ball squads, opting to release young batter Hasan Nawaz for domestic duties. This decision coincides with the recall of experienced player Fakhar Zaman to the T20 International squad. The alterations come as Pakistan prepares for a home series against Sri Lanka and a T20I tri-nation series that includes Zimbabwe.

Hasan Nawaz, aged 23, will now feature in the seventh round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, commencing on November 11. His release creates an opening for Fakhar Zaman, who returns to the T20I side after last featuring in the Asia Cup 2025 final. No replacement has been named for the ODI squad following Nawaz’s release. Zaman’s recent ODI series against South Africa saw him score 45 runs across three innings, including two ducks.

Pakistan’s busy white-ball calendar begins with a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi from November 11 to 15. This will be followed by the T20I tri-nation series, featuring Zimbabwe, running from November 17 to 29 in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The selectors will be closely watching performances as the team builds towards future international commitments.
