Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the country’s readiness to enter into a composite dialogue with India on all outstanding issues, including the contentious Jammu and Kashmir dispute. However, Dar asserted that Pakistan would not seek these talks in a manner that lacked respect. India has previously indicated that it would only engage in discussions concerning Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and matters of terrorism. In a separate development, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad conveyed crucial information about possible flooding in Pakistan to the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, highlighting the humanitarian basis for the communication. These warnings come as authorities in Pakistan prepare for potentially severe weather, ordering evacuations in anticipation of heavy rains and possible flooding. The region has seen substantial devastation from monsoon seasons in recent years, particularly the catastrophic floods of 2022, which resulted in widespread damage and loss.
