Australian authorities have named the father and son responsible for the shocking Bondi Beach massacre that killed 16 people, including a child, during Hanukkah celebrations in Sydney. The duo, identified as Sajid Akram (50) and Naveed Akram (24), have Pakistani roots. Sajid Akram was killed by police at the scene, while Naveed Akram was captured and is currently undergoing treatment for injuries. Investigators are probing possible extremist ties after locating an ISIS flag within the attackers’ vehicle. New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon confirmed that Sajid Akram was a licensed firearm holder with six registered guns. The investigation into the motive is ongoing and described as thorough. In the aftermath, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced plans for stricter national gun control legislation, focusing on limiting the number of firearms per licensed owner and revisiting the perpetual nature of licenses. The attack has caused widespread grief and condemnation, particularly within the Jewish community, which was targeted during the incident.
