Palamu Authorities Crack Down on Girls’ School Irregularities

Palamu Deputy Commissioner Samira S undertook a detailed inspection of the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Lesliganj, a move aimed at enhancing the quality of education and living standards for the students. The inspection covered a wide range of facilities, including dormitories, the kitchen, and academic infrastructure. Key findings included issues with a leaking water tank, which was ordered to be repaired immediately, and a directive to install mosquito nets in student rooms. The Deputy Commissioner also engaged directly with students, posing questions in classrooms and examining the laboratory, computer facilities, and storerooms. This visit was preceded by a directive to district officials to conduct similar inspections across various schools. In a meeting with the school’s teaching staff, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of regular PTMs, prompt updating of student work, and timely completion of the curriculum. A significant development during the inspection was the seizure of the stock register due to suspected irregularities, prompting a thorough investigation. The Deputy Commissioner clearly stated that this was her second visit and that strict action would be taken if any deficiencies were found during her next inspection, particularly regarding student attendance, which should exceed 75%. The Deputy Development Commissioner reviewed expenditure records, while other officials inspected multiple schools in the Nilamber-Pitamberpur area, reporting their findings in a subsequent review meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner.
