Paris Olympics 2024: Veteran tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz in a tough match and won the first Olympic gold medal of his career. At the same time, 37-year-old Djokovic has become the oldest tennis gold medalist in Olympic history. Alcaraz, who won Wimbledon, had to settle for a silver medal in his first Olympics.

Novak Djokovic has won 24 Grand Slams but he did not have an Olympic gold before the Paris Games. He fought hard to win against Carlos Alcaraz of Spain. The match between Novak and Alcaraz was very tough. Both the players could not break the service. Both the sets went to tiebreak. Djokovic defeated Alcaraz in straight sets 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-2) in the final of the Paris Olympics.

Djokovic lost his last three Olympic semi-finals. Djokovic was defeated in the Olympic semi-finals by Rafael Nadal in Beijing (2008), Andy Murray in London (2012), and Alexander Zverev in Tokyo (2021). He won bronze at the 2008 Olympics.
