A confrontation between security forces and Naxals took place in the Partapur area, resulting in the elimination of a Naxal. This was confirmed by SP I.K. Elesela.

Acting on intelligence about the presence of major Naxal leaders, the security forces had been conducting search operations in the forests for two days. When the forces approached, the Naxals initiated firing. In the ensuing exchange, the security forces retaliated, killing one Naxal.

A weapon was recovered from the scene of the encounter. There is a possibility that more Naxals were either injured or killed during the confrontation.

The encounter reportedly took place in the Alanar forests. The slain Naxal, named Masa, belonged to Company Number 5 and carried a reward of 8 lakh rupees.
