A passenger on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru experienced a highly unusual event, finding themselves locked inside the aircraft’s lavatory for the entire flight. The door malfunctioned, preventing the passenger’s exit.
The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 10:55 PM, eventually took off at 2:10 AM. Shortly after takeoff, the passenger entered the restroom, only to discover the door was jammed. Crew members attempted to rectify the issue without success.
In a gesture of reassurance, the crew composed a handwritten note, which was slipped under the door, asking the passenger to remain calm and stay seated until the flight landed. Social media users found the incident amusing and the crew’s note quickly became a talking point.
On arrival in Bengaluru, ground staff intervened and opened the door. SpiceJet has issued an apology for the experience.
