Patna residents can look forward to the commencement of metro travel on October 6th. After a period of anticipation, the Patna Metro is set to be inaugurated. Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, will officiate the inauguration. The initial phase will launch a 9-kilometer stretch along the Red Line, encompassing three stations.

The stations on this initial route include ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhootnath. The Patna Metro Rail Corporation has received approval for operations from the Metro Rail Safety Commissioner. The Urban Development Department subsequently confirmed October 6th as the inauguration date. Test runs for the metro service have been completed, and the trains will operate at a speed of 40 km/h. Initially, three bogies will be in service.

    **Artistic and Cultural Immersion**

The metro bogies will feature displays of Bihar’s art, culture, and knowledge. The coaches are marked with ‘Patna Metro’ and will showcase visuals of Patna’s Golghar, Mahavir Temple, Lord Mahavir, and Madhubani paintings, representing the state’s artistic and cultural heritage. The three bogies will have a combined capacity of 1000 passengers, with seating for 138 and standing room for 900 passengers.

    **Advanced Safety Systems**

Each bogie of the Patna Metro will be equipped with a 360-degree CCTV camera. Emergency buttons and microphones are also installed in each coach, allowing direct communication with the driver in case of emergencies. The Patna Metro represents a major advancement for Bihar, and it promises to significantly improve traffic management in Patna. The introduction of the metro service is anticipated to greatly alleviate the issues of road congestion and traffic.
