PM Modi Highlights Assam Infiltration, Vows to Address Tribal Grievances

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the rising infiltration issue in Assam, calling it a substantial challenge during his address in Golaghat. He placed blame on past Congress administrations for their alleged assistance to infiltrators, which he said, impacted the state’s demographic balance. Modi stated the BJP government is now working in tandem with the people of Assam to tackle the problem of infiltration. He also praised the Assam government’s Mission Basundhara for its work in providing land leases, and reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to correct what he described as historical injustices against tribal societies. During his visit, PM Modi inaugurated multiple projects, including a bamboo-based ethanol plant. He conveyed his gratitude for the support he receives from the Northeast, emphasizing its importance for the development of Assam and India.
