Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the ‘Pratibha Setu’ portal during his 125th Mann Ki Baat program, praising its work. He described it as a platform designed to connect deserving UPSC aspirants, who did not make the final merit list, with fresh employment opportunities. This initiative is aimed at providing a new pathway for the numerous candidates who successfully completed all stages of the tough UPSC examinations. The UPSC is known as one of the most competitive exams in India. Often, candidates miss the final selection by a narrow margin, necessitating repeated attempts and causing a waste of resources. The goal of Pratibha Setu is to provide these brilliant students with both opportunities and maintain their dignity. This portal is the rebranded version of the Public Disclosure Scheme (2018) and has been further developed to cater to the needs of the aspirants. The portal currently has data of more than 10,000 candidates. The exams covered include the Civil Services Examination (CSE), Indian Forest Service (IFoS), Engineering Services (IES), Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service (IES/ISS), Combined Medical Services, Combined Defence Services (CDS), and the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination. The portal enables government and private companies to register and, after verification, they receive login details. This grants them access to the candidates’ educational qualifications, exam information, and basic contact details. This helps companies to directly offer employment opportunities to these candidates. Data is available through a secure and transparent system. The Pratibha Setu portal ensures that candidates who have worked hard and passed all stages of the UPSC exam get further opportunities, even if they are not selected for the final merit list. The portal acts as a resource benefiting the government, private sector, and the candidates involved.
