Two individuals accused of firing at Disha Patani’s residence in Bareilly were killed in a police encounter in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The suspects had connections to a significant transnational criminal organization. The shooting at Patani’s childhood home occurred in the early hours of September 12th, causing alarm in the area. Ms. Patani’s family, including her parents and sister, were present at the time of the incident. Goldy Brar, a Canada-based criminal, claimed responsibility for the attack through social media, stating the shooting was a reaction to comments allegedly made by Patani and her sister about religious figures. The police encounter was a joint operation involving the Noida unit of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and the Crime Intelligence (CI) Unit of Delhi Police. The suspects fired upon the approaching team, and during the exchange, both sustained serious injuries. Police recovered weapons, including a Glock pistol and a Zigana pistol, from the scene. The individuals were identified as Ravindra and Arun.
