Bihar: Income Tax and ED raid premises of Begusarai builder, brother-in-law of state finance minister Vijay Choudhary

On Thursday, June 22, groups of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department raided the Begusarai residence of builder Ajay Kumar Singh, who’s the brother-in-law of Bihar Finance Minister and Janata Dal (United) chief Vjiay Kumar Choudhary. 

Ajay Singh, often known as Karu Yadav, is linked to JD(U) state president Lalan Singh. Singh reportedly runs an iron bar-making manufacturing unit. The raid happened at Ajay Singh’s residence in Begusarai district’s Sri Krishna space in Nagar police station precinct.

Income Tax Department and ED officers launched raids on the builder’s dwelling at 6:00 a.m. The actual specifics of the raid are undisclosed. The Begusarai authorities despatched a major variety of law enforcement officials to avert any unlucky incidents.

Reportedly, the officers arrived at Karu Singh’s residence in six autos through the early hours of Thursday. Bihar Finance Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary is but to react to the raids performed at his relative’s residence.

ED raids at 24 areas linked with JDU and RJD leaders

Earlier this month, Ed performed raids at 24 areas in Bihar and Jharkhand in reference to a case pertaining to the sand commerce. ED raided areas reportedly linked with JDU MLC Radha Charan Sah often known as Seth Ji, RJD’s Jagnarayan, Satish Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Sanjay Singh and Subhash Yadav. The raiding groups searched the premises in Patna, Danapur, Aurangabad, Bhojpur, Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Hazaribagh amongst others. The aforementioned individuals had been reported to have a reference to Broadson and Aditya Multicom, which undertakes the federal government’s work associated to sand. It was reported that the ED seized a number of essential paperwork. 

I-T raids at JDU MLC Radha Charan Sah’s premises

In February this 12 months, the revenue tax officers raided a number of areas within the Arrah district of Bihar linked with the JDU MLC Radha Charan Sah. The raids had been performed in an alleged a number of crore tax evasion case pertaining to irregularities within the sand commerce.
