In a major reshuffle, the President of India Droupadi Murmu has changed the governors of several states. Governors of Rajasthan, Telangana, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, and Manipur have been changed along with the Lt Governors of Puducherry and Chandigarh. The President of India has also accepted the resignation of Banwarilal Purohit as Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory of Chandigarh. In a press communique, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said K. Kailashnathan has been appointed as Lt. Governor of Puducherry with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office. Om Prakash Mathur will be the new Governor of Sikkim and Santosh Kumar Gangwar of Jharkhand.
