Man makes an attempt suicide on the residence of Congress Minister Balasaheb Thorat

On Tuesday (March 9), a person tried to set himself on fireplace on the residence of the sitting Maharashtra Revenue Minister and Congress legislator Balasaheb Thorat.
As per reviews, the sufferer is a resident of the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. Identified as Pandurang Wagh, he tried suicide for not receiving the refund from the Maharashtra authorities for the licence charge paid for a stalled sand mining challenge.
Reportedly, Wagh had obtained his licence for sand extraction in 2018 for a charge of ₹8.72 lac. However, the challenge needed to be discontinued over frequent ‘protests’ by locals, leading to enormous financial loss.
Distraught by the stalling of the challenge, the sufferer tried to method the income Department authorities for a refund of the licence charge. However, when he didn’t get his refund, Wagh determined to finish his life. In order to attract the eye of the sitting Minister Balasaheb Thorat, the sufferer poured petrol over himself and set himself on fireplace within the particular government officer corridor of Royal Stone (the residence of Thorat).
Victim arrested, launched on bail later
He was saved by the police officers current on the residence of the Revenue Minister. While talking concerning the incident, Senior Inspector (Gamdevi) Rg Rajbhar acknowledged, “Wagh was detained and taken to the police station. We arrested him under section 309 (Attempt to commit suicide) of Indian Penal Code and released him on bail with a warning not to repeat such act in future.”
