Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid points fatwa to Islamic outfits on UCC: Reports

Amidst the continuing debate over the laws of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) within the nation, the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid has reportedly issued a fatwa to Islamic teams to take care of silence on the difficulty.
As per a report by News18, the Shahi Imam issued the fatwa on the event of Eid-al-Adha. He was overseas when he reportedly requested Muslim outfits to maintain mum on the controversy surrounding the Uniform Civil Code.

Earlier, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) wrote a letter to the Law Commission in search of six months’ time to provide its options. It is pertinent to notice that AIMPLB and its members have typically discarded the thought of UCC and stated that no one, not even the State, can alter Sharia legislation.
On June 14, the Law Commission sought the views of all stakeholders and spiritual organisations on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
PM Modi bats for UCC
On June 27, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the topic of UCC throughout his deal with to social gathering staff in Bhopal.
While stating that political events are attempting to mislead Muslims, he strongly batted for equal rights and Uniform Civil Code enshrined within the Constitution. He additionally dropped a touch that UCC could be on the playing cards within the upcoming Parliament session.
PM Modi stated, “Today people are being instigated in the name of UCC. How can the country run on two laws? The Constitution also talks of equal rights. Supreme Court has also asked to implement UCC. These (Opposition) people are playing vote bank politics.”
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami additionally stated that the State’s UCC draft was within the making.
