Hazaribagh’s Sirsi Ward 33 was plunged into distress on Thursday following the recovery of a young man’s body. The deceased has been identified as Jitu Paswan, son of the late Bhubaneswar Paswan, a resident of the Katkamdag police station jurisdiction. The news quickly spread, leading to a gathering of local residents who then alerted the police. Katkamdag police personnel arrived at the scene, secured the body, and commenced their official investigation.
Neighbors shared that Jitu Paswan was employed in the popular trade of making and selling chow mein, which was his primary source of income. He was frequently away from home for work and had only returned a short while ago. It is believed that he often experienced significant mental anguish due to unresolved family issues and financial instability. His estranged wife had been living separately for a long duration, and ongoing conflicts with other family members reportedly intensified his psychological distress.
Adding to these challenges, Jitu Paswan is also understood to have been battling a substance addiction, a factor that allegedly contributed to his somber demeanor. The confluence of his addiction and internal family strife is being explored as a potential cause for his weakened mental state. The authorities are proceeding under the assumption of suicide, pending the conclusive findings of the post-mortem examination.
The body has been transported to Sadar Hospital for forensic analysis. Police are actively collecting evidence from the site and will be taking statements from the bereaved family to aid their investigation.
