Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the controversy surrounding alleged abusive remarks directed at his late mother during a Bihar rally. He criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for bringing his mother into politics, where she had never been involved. The Prime Minister said that his mother was verbally abused on a campaign stage of the Opposition bloc and added that this act had humiliated every mother and sister.
During a video conference, he spoke to approximately 20 lakh women. The Prime Minister highlighted his late mother’s struggles and dedication towards raising her children and fighting poverty. He also noted, “The place of a mother is higher than that of gods and goddesses.” The Prime Minister attacked the political dynasts by stating, “The naamdars cannot digest this,” referring to the opposition leaders.
