    Several power generation and transmission projects will be launched to strengthen the grid and increase power availability in Chhattisgarh.

    Special attention will be given to the development of several rail and road projects to improve connectivity in Chhattisgarh, especially in tribal and industrial areas.

    To boost educational infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, the Prime Minister will dedicate 130 PM Shri schools in 29 districts of the state.

    Realizing the dream of housing for all, 3 lakh beneficiaries will have their ‘Griha Pravesh’ (housewarming ceremony) under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G).

    Raipur, March 28, 2025/ In line with his commitment to infrastructure development and enhancing sustainable livelihoods, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation several development projects related to power, oil and gas, rail, road, education, and housing sectors worth over ₹33,700 crore in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh on March 30.

    Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to improving the power sector across the country. Accordingly, several steps will be taken to provide affordable and reliable power and make Chhattisgarh self-reliant in power generation. He will lay the foundation stone of NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (1x800MW) located in Bilaspur district, costing over ₹9,790 crore. This pit head project is based on state-of-the-art ultra-supercritical technology with high power generation efficiency. He will launch the work of the first super critical thermal power project (2X660MW) of Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL), costing over ₹15,800 crore. He will also dedicate to the nation Powergrid’s three power transmission projects under the Western Region Expansion Scheme (WRES), costing over ₹560 crore.

    In line with India’s net-zero carbon emission goals, reducing air pollution, and providing clean energy solutions, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL)’s City Gas Distribution (CGD) project in Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur, and Sarguja districts. It includes more than 200 kilometers of high-pressure pipeline and more than 800 kilometers of MDPE (Medium Density Polyethylene) pipeline and several CNG dispensing outlets costing over ₹1,285 crore. He will also lay the foundation stone of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)’s 540 km long Visakh-Raipur Pipeline (VRPL) project, costing over ₹2210 crore. This multi-product (petrol, diesel, kerosene) pipeline will have a capacity of more than 3 million metric tons per year.

    Focusing on improving connectivity in the region, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of seven railway projects with a total length of 108 kilometers and dedicate to the nation three railway projects with a total length of 111 kilometers, costing over ₹2,690 crore. He will flag off the MEMU train service in the Abhanpur-Raipur section via Mandir Hasaud. He will also dedicate to the nation 100 percent electrification of the Indian Railways’ rail network in Chhattisgarh. These projects will reduce congestion, improve connectivity, and boost social and economic development across the region.

    Enhancing the road infrastructure in Chhattisgarh, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the upgradation of the Jhalamala to Sherpar section of NH-930 (37 kilometers) and the Ambikapur-Pathalgaon section of NH-43 (75 kilometers) to 2 lanes. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for upgrading the Kondaagaon-Narayanpur section of NH-130D (47.5 km) to 2 lanes. These projects, costing over ₹1,270 crore, will significantly improve access to tribal and industrial areas, leading to the overall development of the region.

    In line with his commitment to ensuring education for all, the Prime Minister will dedicate two major educational initiatives, including 130 PM Shri schools in 29 districts of the state and the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in Raipur.
