Following the recent floods, the Punjab government rapidly responded by evacuating 4,711 people to safety in the last 24 hours. The rescued individuals were from Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Moga, Tarn Taran, Barnala, and Fazilka. A total of 11,330 people have been rescued from nine flood-affected districts. Currently, 77 out of 87 established relief camps are operational, accommodating 4,729 people. The government is providing essential support to those in the camps. Relief material distribution is ongoing in several districts. The NDRF, SDRF, Punjab Police, Army, BSF, and Air Force are actively assisting in rescue efforts with the support of local communities. The floods have impacted over a thousand villages, and have resulted in significant financial losses due to damage to crops and livestock.
