In a major victory for Punjab Police and central agencies, Parminder Singh, also known as Pindi, a Khalistani terrorist linked to the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) group, has been brought back to India from Abu Dhabi. Pindi is associated with Harwinder Singh (Rinda) and Happy Passia, who are Khalistan supporters hiding in Pakistan. He was wanted in Punjab for serious crimes, including attacks on petrol pumps and extortion.
A team from Punjab Police, with the assistance of the Union Ministry of External Affairs and UAE authorities, reached the UAE on September 24 to facilitate the extradition process. The Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab acknowledged the support of the Union Ministry of External Affairs, the UAE government, and central agencies for the successful extradition.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav tweeted that, in an unprecedented operation, Punjab Police, working closely with central agencies, extradited Parminder Singh, alias Pindi, a terrorist from Babbar Khalsa International, from Abu Dhabi. Pindi is a close associate of foreign terrorist Harwinder Singh, also known as Rinda, and Happy Passia, and was involved in a range of serious crimes, including petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults, and extortion in the Batala region.
He added that, acting on the Red Corner Notice (RCN) issued by the Batala Police, a four-member team headed by a senior police officer went to the United Arab Emirates on September 24. This team coordinated with the Ministry of External Affairs and UAE officials, completing all legal formalities and successfully returning the terrorist to face justice. This successful extradition underlines the Punjab Police’s firm policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and organized crime, highlighting their advanced investigative skills and international reach. He expressed gratitude for the support from central agencies, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and the UAE government in this joint effort to uphold justice and reinforce national security.
