In the wake of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia’s custody following searches at his residence, Punjab Minister Harpal Singh Cheema affirmed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s resolve to eliminate drugs from the state. He declared that anyone implicated in drug-related activities would face legal consequences.
Cheema highlighted the ongoing ‘Yudh Nashe Ke Viruddh’ campaign and accused previous administrations of enabling drug trafficking. He reinforced the AAP’s commitment to ensuring justice and eradicating drugs. The government’s aim is to eliminate the presence of drugs from Punjab.
Ganieve Kaur Majithia, wife of Bikram Singh Majithia, described the events surrounding the raids, stating that a large group entered their home without proper authorization. She further expressed her gratitude to the SAD supporters who stood by her husband during this time.
